Butterflies (Lepidoptera: Papilionoidea) of the Pedra Talhada Biological Reserve, in northeastern Brazil
Resumen
Abstract Among the Atlantic Forest areas in Brazil, the portion north of the São Francisco River is the least studied regarding butterfly fauna. In this study, we present a list of species recorded in the Pedra Talhada Biological Reserve, built from five collection expeditions. A total of 241 species from seven families were identified, including 87 new records for the Alagoas state and 22 new records for the Atlantic Forest north of the São Francisco River. Notably, Scada karschina delicata Talbot, 1932, a critically endangered subspecies of high conservation interest, was recorded. This inventory of the Pedra Talhada Biological Reserve, a key conservation area in the region, is the first step to the conservation of local butterfly diversity.Descargas
