Results of an inventory of Elateridae species from the Atlantic Forest in Vila Dois Rios (Ilha Grande, Angra dos Reis, RJ) are presented. A total of 212 specimens were collected in five subfamilies, representing the first record of 19 genera and 28 species from Ilha Grande. Elaterinae was the richest and most dominate subfamily, with Pomachilius terminatus was the most abundantly species. Agrypninae and Cardiophorinae corresponded to 19.34% of total abundance, the former with 11 species and the latter with four.
